Hardware
Apertus is not just a camera module. It's a whole ecosystem of different modules and parts that can combined individually to fit a particular application. It is meant to be a very flexible DIY toolkit for the pros.
Here is a list of the current (a few more are being discussed) modules:
The Camera
The core of Apertus is an Elphel camera.
Viewfinder
Because of the open architecture you can basically use any laptop as viewfinder. Even netbooks work pretty well.
The viewfinder software Elphelvision is designed to be used with a touch-screen so a tablet-pc is favoured.
Buttons & Knobs Interface
Even though many modern state of the art cameras - even the professional ones - base their interface around a touch-screen there is nothing like turning a solid knob to alter shutter speeds, etc. Dictator will fulfill this need.
Rods Support
The Rods will give the camera a flexible but solid mechanical framework to mount all kinds of things on the body.
Audio Recording
Everything regarding Audio Recording can be found in its own subpage
